My Favorite Mangaka

Ike Reibun
Her manga covers many different types of yaoi so there’s a little something for everyone. She’s written about twincest, incest, yakuza members, art thieves, a shota seme, human x non-human, werewolves, and even rape by robotic dog. Not only that, but she’s created one of the most badass ukes, Nirasawa from Bi no Isu, which I think is an amazing accomplishment because most ukes are far from being badass. He’s also one of the sexiest ukes in yaoi.
Manga recommendations: Bi no Isu and Kobi no Kyoujin

Junko
Junko creates some extremely adorable and heartbreaking stories. Her manga Konbini-kun, was the very first manga to make me cry and I’ve read it at least 10 times since then.
I can hanble bullying in a yaoi manga because I know that everything usually works out, but for some reason, this particular manga shattered my heart and then slowly put the pieces back together as I continued to read. The other reason why I think she is amazing is because I enjoy sex in my manga because I feel like that’s the final step in the progression of a boy x boy relationship so I’m not a huge fan of shounen ai. But Junko has given me some really cute manga like Walking with You, that may not show the main characters getting it on, but left me with a satisfying ending.
Manga recommendations: Konbini-kun and Star-like Words

Kitazawa Kyou
Yet another great mangaka who draws gorgeous semes and ukes. I’ve read all of her stuff and she has yet to let me down.
Manga recommendations: Koishite Daddy and Houkago no Love Call

Natsume Isaku
She’s a lot like Yamamoto Kotetsuko. Her works are sweet, safe to read, and they’re paced really well. The relationships progress at a believable rate and she doesn’t drag her stories on and on, which can be a bad thing sometimes since I’m usually sad when I finish reading her stuff.
Manga recommendations: Ameiro Paradox and Devil’s Honey

Nekota Yonezou
Her art style is gorgeous and her characters are sexy as hell. Her ukes are unique because they actually speak their feelings instead of spending half the manga worrying about shit and misunderstanding everything. There’s also the fact that she is the creator of Maya from Hidoku Shinaide, who is one of the sexiest men in yaoi……..you know what? Someone should create a “sexiest men in yaoi” calendar and put Maya in it. Screw that! Make a calendar that just has pictures of Maya in it!
Manga recommendations: Hidoku Shinaide and Michiru Heya

Ogawa Chise
Her manga ranges from really cute to really fucked up and unique. Her manga Caste Heaven is so fucked up, I have yet to get the courage to continue reading it even though it’s been updated multiple times. I’m not usually affected by the more dark and messed up yaoi manga, so the fact that I try to stay away from some of her works, is proof of how amazing she is.

Takarai Rihito
The amazing mangaka who created Ten Count. That alone gets her a spot on my list.
Manga recommendations: Ten Count and Hana No Migoro Ni

Tennouji Mio
Her manga are very memorable, whether it’s because of the plot or the hot sex scenes. At least that’s what I think
Yamamoto Kotetsuko
The reason why she’s my number one favorite, is because her manga are safe, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. They’re perfect reads for when you are in the mood to read something fluffy, adorable, and void of any of those cruel aspects of yaoi.
Manga recommendations: Honto Yajuu and Konya mo Nemurenai

Yamato Nase
Her art style and character designs are beautiful and she has come up with some of the weirdest story lines ever. She’s the mastermind behind Chintsubu, a story about four boys whose spirits enter each others penises due to an accident. You have to be a genius to come up with shit like that.
Yoneda Kou
I don’t think I need to explain why she’s on my list because everyone knows how amazing Yoneda Kou is.
Manga recommendations: NightS and Ore Ni Koi Shite Dousunda

I have a lot of favorite mangaka, but I think it’s best that I stop here. You can check out my entire list on Mangago.
