It's the year 1895 in the kingdom of Cusrutonia. Atop a hill on the outskirts of a town a short distance from the capital, bells mourning the dead are resounding through the air. They ring for the funeral of an aristocrat who was once known as this land's hero. Whoever he was, it has nothing to do with me; for the world I live in is completely separate from that of nobles. My life will never have anything to do with them, for all eternity. Nobles are nobles; servants are servants. That fact will never change. And from here on out, I will continue to live my life at the bottom, being used by someone else. That was what I had always believed...until then....
Having been raised and grown up with an empty life in an orphanage, Nico has tasted nothing but hardship his entire life. Unable even to find respectable employment due to the discrimination against his half Yaff blood, he had given up on everything and fallen into despair. Nico was doing hard labor at an undertaker's when one day, at a noble's funeral services, he was suddenly spoken to by Claus, the head of that noble's family...and from that day forth, Nico's fate was entirely changed.
